Community Cat TNVR Program – Waitlist Form

Please review the eligibility guidelines before submitting the form.  Questions regarding eligibility should be referred to 785.813.2230

Thank you for your interest in our TNVR program. Please complete the form below to be added to the waitlist. Our program is volunteer-run and works as efficiently as possible — we appreciate your patience and support.

Please Note:

  • Services are only available to cats within 1 mile of Jefferson County unless approved in advance.

  • If cats are on private property you do not own, written permission from the property owner is required before trapping, unless the cats are regularly coming to your property.

  • Our clinics are held once per month; current wait times are approximately 6–8 months. If you cannot wait, other local options may be available but will involve out-of-pocket costs.

  • Some cats may qualify for our standby list, which allows for earlier appointments if last-minute openings become available. To be eligible for the standby list, cats must be friendly, easy to catch, and available on short notice. Please indicate your interest in the message area of the waitlist form below.

  • If you have fewer than five (5) cats, you must be able to trap and deliver them to the designated facility unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.

  • All cats must be contained in a trap or carrier.  Do NOT bring in handheld cats.  Please remove any collars or personal items (flea collars, pet collars, etc) before arrival.

  • All cats will receive a left ear tip.  This is required by KSU and Helping Hands, and is non-negotiable

Trapping Eligibility & Caregiver Responsibilities

To protect volunteer safety, animal welfare, and successful outcomes, all trapping services are provided in accordance with program policies. Caregivers requesting trapping assistance must agree to the following:

  • Follow pre-trapping instructions provided by the Trapper or Trapping Coordinator, including withholding food as directed.

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to approved trapping areas when requested (garages, sheds, or outbuildings are common hiding places that may require access).

  • Allow authorized trappers to check and service traps without interference, supervision, or monitoring.

  • Maintain a cooperative environment that supports volunteer safety and humane handling of cats.

Failure to meet these requirements may result in suspension or discontinuation of trapping services at a given location. The organization reserves the right to determine eligibility for trapping services and to decline or discontinue services where program requirements are not met.

Scheduling & Communication Policies

Due to high demand, if you are scheduled to deliver cats and do not show and do not notify our Trapping Coordinator by 10:00 a.m. on the scheduled day, your request may be moved to the end of the list.

If we cannot reach you after two contact attempts, your request will be placed in inactive status. You may re-contact us to be considered again.

Consent Form

After submitting the waitlist request form, you will receive a consent form via email. This form must be signed and returned to pawsitivelyjeffersoncounty@gmail.com or mailed to P.O. Box 125, Ozawkie, KS 66070. A signed consent form is required for any cats with a caretaker and must be on file prior to surgery.

Our Trapping Coordinator will be in touch as soon as possible. Thank you for supporting our volunteer-run TNVR program!
